The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applications for a full time, non-tenured, scientist with specific expertise in transfusion immunology for an appointment at the rank of Research Assistant Professor. The successful candidate is expected to have independent funding for an existing research program in the area of basic transfusion Immunology. Position requires an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) are encouraged to apply; however, a background in the basic science of transfusion immunology, and in B cell lymphocyte biology, in particular, is a considerable strength. Existing collaborations with other leaders in transfusion immunology and involvement with transfusion-based academic societies is also a strength.
