Lecturer in Luso-Brazilian Studies and Portuguese Language, to assume the position of Portuguese instructor and coordinator of the Portuguese Language Program. Preferred specialization and experience in second language acquisition and linguistics; with additional competence in Luso-Brazilian literature and cultural studies desirable. Responsibilities will include classroom teaching, research, training Teaching Assistants, and coordinating the multi-year program in Portuguese. Native or near-native proficiency in Portuguese and English required. M.A. or Ph.D. in hand by application date. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in teaching; experience coordinating Portuguese language and culture courses at the college level; familiarity with current technologies in the foreign language classroom; and experience with student placement and assessment at the college level. Candidates with OPI Certification in Portuguese are desirable. Experience conducting study abroad programs is a plus. Normative course load is a minimum of six courses over three-quarters of the academic year. Application deadline March 6, 2017.
