University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital has an academic anesthesiologist position available at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is without tenure and is either part-time or full-time with a 12-month service period. The Assistant Professor position initially has a three-year term and are renewable for a second three-year term. Seattle Children’s Hospital provides care to children from the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho) region. The hospital supports all pediatric surgical and medical specialties and selected faculty member also provide intensive care and pain management services. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students and supervision of clinical care team. Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and a minimum of one year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology. Must obtain state of Washington medical licensure by start date. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H‑1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
