The Department of Laboratory Medicine, University of Washington, seeks pathologists for full time Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor without tenure in clinical chemistry on the Physician-Scientist or clinician educator pathway. This would be a 12-month, multi-year appointment. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The primary service responsibility will be to participate in the direction of one or more of the Department’s clinical chemistry laboratories. Additional responsibilities include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and medical laboratory scientist program undergraduates, and development of an extramurally funded research program. Applicants must possess an earned M.D.-Ph.D., or M.D. degree, and be board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Pathology or possess an earned Ph.D. and be board-certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Documented experience is required directing clinical laboratories and in the clinical interpretation of clinical chemistry testing results. Research experience and a record of publications are also required. Graduates of non-U.S. medical schools must have completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
