The UW School of Public Health has identified strategic opportunities for leadership in research and educational programs focused on some of the most profound challenges facing public health in the coming decades. One of those areas is Public Health Genomics, and in particular Genetic Epidemiology.The School of Public Health at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time (100% FTE) faculty position in Genetic Epidemiology. Duties include methodological and substantive research as well as teaching in genetic epidemiology within the appointing department, the Institute for Public Health Genetics, and collaborating programs at the University of Washington. The position may be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (12-month service period) depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The appointee will be associated with the interdisciplinary program in Public Health Genetics and will join one of the departments in the school: Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Global Health. Collaborations with the Department of Genome Sciences and the Division of Medical Genetics in the School of Medicine will be encouraged.Doctoral degree required in a field relevant to genetic epidemiology. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in genetic epidemiology and success in attracting external funding.
