Position Details

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Head of the Section of Cardiology based at Harborview Medical Center. The Cardiology Section at the HMC is a full service program with integrated UW Medicine and cardiovascular training programs. The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective leader with a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and research. An academic track record with evidence of publications and the ability to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities for collaboration in clinical, translational and health services research is desirable.

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The successful applicant must qualify for appointment to the full-time (100% FTE) faculty at the University of Washington at the Associate Professor (0112) or Full Professor (0111) level (without tenure due to funding) commensurate with qualifications. These are 12-month, indefinite appointments. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Position will remain open until filled.
