The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position, 12-month indefinite appointment, in the Section of General Internal Medicine at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Center (VAPSHCS). The position will be at the Assistant Professor level (Job Class Code 0113) on the clinician-teacher pathway (without tenure for reasons of funding). The position would provide clinical care and teaching in the General Medicine Service Line at the VAPSHCS. The position would be based in Primary Care Clinic and Women’s Clinic with a panel of patients and attending in residents’ continuity clinics, and additional clinical care in Hepatology Clinic. The position would also provide one month per year of attending on the inpatient general medicine services at the VAPSHCS. The position is expected to conduct scholarly work that will result in publications required in this academic track.
To be considered, applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), must be board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent), have US citizen status, and have an established record of at least two years as a superior teacher, with documentation of such, in a university setting with both medical students and residents in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Applicants must show evidence of scholarly productivity and publications.
