Position Details


The Boise VA and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine are recruiting for a UW Medical Student Internal Medicine program site director. Duties include direction of the Boise VA Internal Medicine Clerkship in conjunction with the UW director of student teaching. The position also includes direct teaching, providing feedback, reviewing grades, and medical student advising. The director will oversee educators and facilitate coordination with the UW School of Medicine. There is a potential for research time to be included for qualified candidates.

Successful applicants should be practicing clinicians (M.D., or foreign equivalent) board-certified in Internal Medicine. The position includes 25% full time equivalent (FTE) protected time for student program duties. Additional FTE would be dedicated based on qualifications and available funding.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant (0113), Associate (0112), or full Professor (0111) without tenure due to funding (WOT) on the clinician/teacher or physician/scientist pathway at the University of Washington Department of Medicine, according to the individual’s career goals as a clinician, teacher or researcher. This is a 12-month, multi-year appointment. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
