Opportunities for Dermatology Investigators in Seattle, WA
We are pleased to announce opportunities for investigators in dermatology to join an exciting, innovative and collaborative culture in the beautiful and dynamic Pacific Northwest. The University of Washington is seeking applicants for up to four full-time (100%) faculty positions. These positions offer a variety of research, clinical, and teaching responsibilities, with a primary focus on conducting research in skin biology. Applicants must be excellent investigators, clinicians (for MD candidates), teachers, and enthusiastic about engaging in a broad array of dermatology program-related activities.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Our program is intent on developing future academic leaders in Dermatology while providing outstanding patient care and advancing skin biology and therapeutic approaches. We also offer exceptionally broad expertise across scientific disciplines in a highly collaborative culture with world-class colleagues at UW, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and other excellent research institutions.
These positions will be either on the regular faculty track at the Assistant (0113), Associate (0112) or Full Professor (0111) levels, on the physician-scientist pathway (without tenure due to funding, or with tenure, tenure/track, depending on qualifications) or on the research track, at the Research Assistant Professor (0143), Research Associate Professor (0142) or Research Professor (0141) levels in the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology. These are 12-month, multi-year appointments. Successful applicants must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and, if clinically active, be board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology (or foreign equivalent). PhD. candidates will also be considered. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must have successfully completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. An outstanding track record and/or potential for competitive research funding is required.
